Kirill Troussov

For many years, I have dedicated a large part of my career to teaching the next generation of classical musicians: As chairman and artistic director of different academies and competitions, as professor of violin at the University of Music and Theatre Munich, in my online lessons and in my numerous international master-classes. Founding a string academy in Madrid was a vision I had been carrying around with me for a long time.

I am thrilled to have met Paloma Pierzchala and Eduardo González, who are just as dedicated to music education as I am. Together we have invested a lot of time and effort into bringing to life a unique string academy in one of the most exciting cities of Europe. And I am grateful for the highly esteemed professors who will lead the master-classes in the academy's second year.

We are violin and cello professors at the Superior Conservatory of Castilla-La Mancha and, above all, a couple passionate about music education and personal development. After years of experience and a deep dedication to teaching and performing, we have decided to start this exciting project together with our dear friend Kirill Troussov.

Additionally, we are two of the founding partners of the Orquesta Camerata de Castilla - La Mancha Foundation, the resident orchestra of the Teatro Circo of Albacete, which aims to support culture and promote music education through projects like this one.

The Orquesta Camerata de Castilla - La Mancha Foundation was established by Paloma Pierzchala and Eduardo González with the purpose of promoting classical music at the regional and national levels. Among its main objectives, it seeks to create a framework for professional learning and connection with the audience in various formats, as well as to promote cultural projects throughout the country.

This Foundation is the main supporter of Orquesta Camerata de Castilla - La Mancha. It offers training scholarships to outstanding students, organizes cycles of symphonic and chamber music concerts, as well as educational and charitable concerts, and supports important projects such as the Sarasate Academy.

The Sarasate Award

The Sarasate Academy will present the Sarasate Award to this year's most outstanding student, who will have the opportunity to perform as a soloist with the renowned Orquesta Camerata de Castilla - La Mancha during the 2027/28 season in Albacete, Spain.

This award, offered by the academy in collaboration with the Orquesta Camerata de Castilla - La Mancha Foundation, recognizes the effort and dedication of our students. It represents a unique opportunity to advance their musical career, allowing the selected student to shine on stage and showcase their talent to the public in a professional setting.

Sarasate & Madrid

The famous violinist, composer and conductor Pablo de Sarasate had strong ties with the capital of Spain and queen Isabel II de España.

After giving his first concert at the young age of eight, in La Coruña, his family was approached by the wealthy Juana María de la Vega, Countess of Espoz and Mina, who had very good connections to the Spanish royal court. The countess' money and influence put Sarasate's parents in the position to pay for further studies in Madrid, under the violinist Manuel Rodriguez Saez. Soon after, Pablo de Sarasate became a successful musician at the Spanish court of Isabel II, for several years.

Best known for Gypsy Airs, Spanish Dances and Carmen Fantasy, Sarasate composed more than fifty works for violin thoughout his life. To honor this great composer we have named our academy after him.
